Really enjoyed/enjoying this project. I never realized how hard it was to keep focus on something. Many things have gotten in the way and I missed a little, but I always brought myself back. I learned a lot through out my reading and I am really glad I picked what I did for my experiment! Thanks Coach Morris for being such an amazing teacher!
Well my spring break was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it. I went away to the beach with friends and stayed in a motel. I did manage to stay true to reading in Proverbs, but I was not able to post because I did not have my laptop and my phone for some reason wont let me on tumblr. So therefore I haven’t posted all week. Hope everyone had a great spring break. See you tomorrow!
Well I am absolutely loving this project a lot. It has showed me so much. Reading in Proverbs I have learned many things. It starts off talking about Wisdom, which is a great topic. I have come very far. I have had a few set backs here and there where I get behind, but then the next day I catch right back up and read everything I missed. I am really glad to have the chance to do this project. I hope everyone else’s are going well too. HAVE A GREAT SPRING BREAK EVERYONE!!
Well its around half way through the 28 days and I am loving this project. I have gotten through all the chapters of Proverbs up to Proverbs 15. There has been so many different things I have learned and I love it!!
Proverbs 15
Verse 1:” A gentle answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stirs up anger.”
The verse that stuck out to me most in this chapter was-Verse 3: ” The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.”
Verse 18- ” A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.”
These were a few of the verses that stood out to me in this chapter. This happens to be a really great chapter on some characterists of different people and what their outcomes are.
Verse 31: “whoever heeds life-giving correction will be at home among the wise.”
I’m really loving this project. I’ve come so far in the reading and it is amazing. So far the whole beginning of Proverbs is about Wisdom. Many people tend to over look this topic a lot too. The Bible has many great things in it. I’m so happy with where I am getting in my reading in Proverbs. So glad we have the chance to do a project like this.
Proverbs 7
Warning against the adulterous woman
Verses 1-5:
*Talk about if one will keep God’s commands, asks for wisdom and applies it to their life, that person will have better understanding and know what the right thing to do is when an adulterer tries to pull them in.
Verses 10-27
*The bulk of the chapter. Covers the characteristics of an adulterer. Mostly an adulterous woman. It gives examples of things that would be said by the woman in order to persuade a man into following in her footsteps.
Proverbs 8
Wisdom’s call
Verse 1-” Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice?”
Verse 4-” To you, o people, I call out I raise my voice to all mankind.”
Verses 10-11- “10. Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, 11. For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.”
*This chapter talks about wisdom and what wisdom is and is not. It points out what wisdom can do. It tells how important wisdom is and how it can help someone. Last, it tells of what aspects one will posses if they have wisdom.
Proverbs 9
Invitations of wisdom and folly
Verse 1-“ Wisdom has built her house; she has set up its seven pillars.”
Verse 4-” Let all who are simple come to my house! To those who have no sense she says.”
Verse 6-” Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight.”
Verse 8-“ Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you.”
Verses 2-5:
*These few verses talk about wisdom calling out to people to come and understand. It basically kind of describes what kind of environment it would be and how it would be done just to invite people in.
Verses 13-” Folly is an unruly woman;she is simple and knows nothing.”
Verses 13-18:
*Focus on folly and what to expect when you follow in the way of folly.
